Director of Gift Planning

Leonard has been with California Pacific Medical Center Foundation since June 2002. Before coming to the Foundation, Leonard was the director of development at the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Volunteer Legal Services Program for a period of three years. And prior to that, Leonard created and directed the planned giving program at the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter, where he worked for almost seven years.

Leonard is a lawyer with 29 years of experience. His practice, before entering the non-profit sector, focused on tax and estate planning. One of Leonard’s greatest strengths is his ability to explain complicated technical issues in plain English.

To stay completely up-to-date, Leonard maintains an extensive network of professional advisors, including estate planning lawyers, certified public accountants, insurance brokers, real estate brokers, and non-profit gift planners.

He is a member of the National Committee on Planned Giving, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Association of Health Care Philanthropy.
